Founded in 1958 as the republican blood transfusion station. The Center collects, tests and stores donated blood and plasma for the hospitals of the three cities and supplies the blood bank of the Regional Hospital. In 2023 it received about 21,000 donations.

Become a donor

Donors are accepted Mon-Sat 8:00-13:00. Age 18 to 60, weight over 50 kg. Bring your passport or ID card. Have a light breakfast without fatty food; do not drink alcohol for 48 hours before.

  • Whole blood: not more often than every 60 days.
  • Plasma: every 14 days.

Donors receive a free meal, a certificate for the day off work (Labour Code), and 150 som compensation for whole blood. Honoured Donors (40 donations) receive a badge and a yearly payment.

Needed most now: O Rh− and A Rh−.
